Lattice Semiconductor Announces Manufacturing Software Support for Revolutionary ispPAC Device Family

New Library Facilitates Manufacturing Automation

HILLSBORO, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 29, 2001--Lattice Semiconductor Corporation (Nasdaq:LSCC - news), the worlds largest supplier of in-system programmable devices, today announced manufacturing software support for its revolutionary in-system Programmable Analog Circuit (ispPAC®) family of devices.

This support is provided in PAC-Designer® software version 1.3 which contains new and upgraded utilities that enable automatic circuit generation from user specifications such as gain, lowpass filter corner frequency, and order of filter. In addition, PAC Designer version 1.3 also supports the newly announced ispPAC30 device -- the world's first in-system programmable and dynamically reconfigurable analog front-end IC. PAC-Designer software is the popular software tool for designing, simulating, and programming Programmable Analog Circuits from Lattice Semiconductor Corporation.

The new PAC-Designer Software Development Kit (PDSDK) library helps users to automate the manufacturing of their boards containing analog circuits. In many cases the manufacturing of these boards involves a technician who has to manually adjust or calibrate analog circuits to compensate for component tolerances. Lattice's ispPAC chips and manufacturing automation software developed using PDSDK can eliminate or minimize manual intervention.

"Programmable circuits offer superior flexibility on the manufacturing line," said Andy Robin, VP of New Venture Business for Lattice. "Now our customers can use software to tune their analog circuits board by board right on the manufacturing line. The new utilities built into PAC-Designer further enhance the fast, easy and flexible way to do analog design."

Availability

PAC-Designer Version 1.3 is available for download from the Lattice website at www.latticesemi.com free of charge. Users can also get a free non-time-limited license at the same location.
